Privacy Policy

In short: your money data stays on your iPhone. There’s no account, no ads and no tracking. When you use an AI feature, only the text it needs is sent to make the answer, and Spendfox doesn’t keep it.
What stays on your iPhone
Your transactions, categories, accounts, budgets, bills, receipts and settings are stored on your iPhone. Spendfox has no account and no server that keeps them. It’s included in your normal iPhone backup. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.
AI features
Some features use AI: Ask Spendfox, monthly tips, the fox’s reactions and summaries, and reading text that the built-in readers don’t understand (for example an unusual screenshot). For these, the text you enter or a short summary of totals (such as amounts per category) is sent over an encrypted connection to the Spendfox server on Cloudflare, which passes it to OpenAI to write the reply.
- Spendfox doesn’t store this text, and it’s never used for advertising.
- Numbers are calculated on your iPhone; the AI only puts them into words.
- A random ID created by the app, and your IP address, are used only to count daily limits. These counts are deleted after two days. They aren’t linked to your name or Apple Account.
Automatic tracking
Bank SMS and screenshots reach Spendfox only through automations you create yourself in Apple’s Shortcuts app. Messages are read on your iPhone; only payments are added, never OTPs or offers. A screenshot is kept with its transaction as a receipt, on your iPhone.
Exchange rates
To convert currencies, the app asks the Spendfox server for current exchange rates (from ExchangeRate-API). No personal data is sent with this request.
Purchases
Subscriptions and Lifetime are handled by Apple. Spendfox only receives Apple’s signed proof of purchase, to unlock Premium. We never see your payment details.
Camera, photos, Face ID and notifications
- Camera and photos are used only when you scan a bill or choose a screenshot. Reading happens on your iPhone.
- Face ID is handled by iOS. Spendfox never sees your face data.
- Notifications (reminders, bills due, budget alerts) are scheduled on your iPhone; nothing is sent to a server.
What we don’t do
No ads, no analytics or tracking tools, no selling or sharing of your data, and no account to sign up for.
Children
Spendfox is not directed at children under 13 and doesn’t knowingly collect their data.
